Mao Feng

Chinese Green Tea

Grown in the mountains of central Zhejiang Province, China, at altitudes above 3000 feet, Mao Feng is harvested in the spring and quickly hot air fired. This neutralizes the oxidizing enzyme and seals in the fresh flavors and aromas. The long, slender jade leaves of Mao Feng brew to a color of pale green and impart a pleasing vegetative fragrance with buttery notes and lingering sweetness.

I recommend this product

Just the right amount of earthy and sagey

I have bought "vedge" teas in the past - notably sage and basil from other makers. They were OK. So I thought I was taking a risk buying this, even though I swear by Smith. This is the right nuanced flavor. I love the earthiness and what I might even call "grassiness" of it. Just right when you want a bit more flavor buzz from a green tea.

Cold and Snowy in New England!

Being a new Tea drinker, I always thought Spring Greens was for those warmer days in Spring and Summer I usually stick to my old standards Portland Breakfast and British Brunch in the colder weather! I recently tried my Spring Greens on a cold and blustery New England winter morning, and I was amazed! Relaxing, refreshing, and it brought me back to fond memories of Spring mornings soon to be!
