A lovely marriage of sophisticated, smoky black teas and delicate French lavender from Provence with a kiss of vanilla. This latte charms with notes of crème brûlée and will leave you dreaming of lavender fields forever.
Black Lavender Vanilla Latte
Ingredients (makes 2 lattes)
- 2 sachets Black Lavender
- 1 1/2 cup milk or alternative milk of your choice
- 1/2 tsp vanilla bean paste
- 1 tbsp honey
- 1 tsp natural blue/purple food coloring powder (optional)
- Dried rose petals and lavender for garnish
Directions
- Bring spring or freshly drawn filtered water to a boil.
- Pour 16 oz water over 2 sachets of Black Lavender.
- Steep 5 minutes.
- While your tea steeps, add milk, vanilla bean paste and honey to a small pot.
- Warm milk mixture over medium low heat until small bubbles form around the edges. Once small bubbles appear, remove from heat.
- After 5 minutes remove tea sachets and discard.
- Add 8 oz tea to each latte mug.
- Add food coloring to milk (if using).
- Froth milk with a handheld milk frother until foamy, but not stiff.
- Top tea with steamed milk and garnish with rose petals and lavender to your hearts content.
- Enjoy.
